I faced the iced-tea lake
A man's voice echoed across it
Quietly, from the cliffs
He said, "Should I jump or
will I hit the rocks below me?
His words grazed my ear
"How are you so far but
I hear your question so clearly?"
I asked gently
"I do not know," he replied.
Verdant water shone in the sun
And lapped the stones beneath
I walked down the steep hill
To my friends who awaited me
A body met the pool without interception
